Students are required to follow the curriculum specified for their degree program. All business core and major (BSBA) or area of specialization (BABA) course work must be taken in residence at the university and may not be taken S-U students who have taken equivalent course work at another Florida public institution will be required to either retake the course at UF or, subject to the approval of the college’s Undergraduate Petitions Committee, take a higher-level course in the same subject area. Additional semester hours are not earned when repeating equivalent courses. Business Core Requirements BUL 4310 The Legal Environment of Business ECP 3703 Managerial Economics FIN 3403 Business Finance MAN 3025 Principles of Management MAN 4504 Operations Management MAR 3023 Principles of Marketing *QMB 3250 Statistics for Business Decisions These courses are required for all BSBA and BABA students. * CIS majors are required to take STA 4033 instead of QMB 3250. Electives BSBA students (with the exception of CIS and Online General Business) are required to earn at least 12 credits of 3000-4000 level non-business courses or 1000-4000 level foreign language courses. Students may utilize one Online BSBA Professional Development Course to fulfill part of this 12-credit requirement. Other courses with sufficient academic rigor will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Beyond these 12 credits, BSBA students may take any 1000-4000 level course to complete the 120 credit hour requirement for graduation. BABA students can use any 1000-4000 level course to fulfill elective requirements. BSBA and BABA students are strongly encouraged to consider using their free electives to obtain a minor outside the college or develop proficiency in a foreign language. General Education Requirements Although the university requires completion of general education requirements for all undergraduate degree programs, each individual college determines the manner in which its students must fulfill these requirements. The general education requirements for the BSBA and BABA degrees are as follows:
Courses with an international/diversity focus may overlap with other requirements. Students are also encouraged to choose general education courses that satisfy the university’s Writing and Math Requirements. Successful completion of all business pre-professional and core courses satisfies the Social & Behavioral Science (S) and mathematics (M) requirements.
