Economics (BSBA)

Business Home | History & Overview | Policies/Procedures | Degree Requirements | Programs | Organizations

Students who major in economics develop skills and expertise in the general area of economic decision making. They take additional macroeconomics to better understand the business environment. In addition, they choose from a variety of courses that apply economic analysis to topics such as taxation, regulation of public utilities, labor force participation, international trade patterns, development strategies for poor countries, and many others.

Economics majors are encouraged to complete one of the following professional development experiences: an internship, a study abroad program, the University Scholars Program, McNair Scholars Achievement Program, extracurricular leadership experiences (e.g. philanthropic organizations, student organizations), or an honors thesis. Students should consult with an academic adviser for specific information.
