Health Science - Rehabilitative ServicesThe Bachelor of Health Science program in rehabilitative services prepares graduates to work in a variety of rehabilitation-related occupations where they can advance the independence, integration and full participation of individuals with disabilities and others with service needs in the work force and community. The rehabilitative services program is designed to prepare students to:
Opportunities have expanded for human service providers who coordinate and manage services in state and federal service agencies, rehabilitation facilities, correctional programs, youth centers, public assistance programs and programs for the aging client. Graduates may supervise service activities, conduct intake interviews, manage community services and facilitate job re-entry and other social services activities. The applicant must have a 2.7 overall GPA and 3.0 prerequisite GPA based on nine semester hours in psychology and sociology. The applicant also is encouraged to have volunteer experience in a human service setting. Enrollment is based on space available in existing facilities. Admission to the professional program is considered separately from admission to UF. Students are admitted each semester. The preferred application deadlines are May 15 for consideration for Fall admission, October 1 for consideration for Spring admission, and March 1 for consideration for Summer admission. Students submitting application materials after the deadline will be considered on a space available basis. The Bachelor of Health Science degree is awarded upon satisfactory completion of the course requirements. Course SequenceThe following course sequence permits completion of general education requirements and Rehabilitative Services prerequisites. The Rehabilitative Services track does not accept AP or IB credit for prerequisite courses. Consult a college adviser for a specific schedule. Health Science - Rehabilitative ServicesIn order to be 'on track' for this major students must meet the critical tracking criteria listed below each semester of enrollment beginning with the first fall or spring term. Students must remain on track for each subsequent fall and spring term for a total of 4 semesters in order to be considered for admission at the junior level. Students must also submit a college application. Off track students must speak with a college advisor before registering for the next semester. To remain 'on track' for this major you must meet the following critical tracking criteria. The critical tracking courses appear in bold. Semester 1:

NOTE: A minimum grade of C is required in all rehabilitative services core courses, which appear in bold.
