Scholarships: The school offers scholarships, awards and loans totaling $75,000 per year. In addition, SFRC students compete for other scholarships available through the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. For more information, email the Student Services Office at info@sfrc.ufl.edu.
Facilities for Instruction/Research: Austin Cary Memorial Forest (2,000 acre mixed-use forest, 15 miles northeast of campus; Swisher-Ordway Preserve, located 30 miles from campus.
Internships and Career Guidance: Depending on major and focus, students find careers with a variety of government agencies, private consulting firms and non-profit conservation groups engaged in the management of natural resources for ecological, economic and social benefits/values. Most students gain some practical work experience while completing their degrees. This may be in the form of part-time work, summer internships or continuing co-ops, and are almost always paid positions. Job placement at graduation is excellent, with approximately 90% of graduates finding full-time, permanent employment within the field.
Undergraduate Degrees
In addition to general education in the arts, history and humanities, students complete specific bio-physical science, mathematical science, social science and communications courses in preparation for the curriculum in the major.
