Tracking for Building Construction

Residential Option
Combined BS/MSBC and BS/MBC Degree Programs

Academic progress of freshmen and sophomores is monitored each semester based on criteria established by the college faculty. These criteria are known as 'Critical Tracking Criteria'. To remain 'on track' for this major you must meet the following critical tracking criteria your first fall or spring term of enrollment and each subsequent fall or spring term for a total of 5 semesters.

Semester 1:

  • Complete 2 of 14 critical courses for a total of 6 hours (BCN1210, BCN1252C or (ARC1301, ARC1302)), BUL4310, ENC2210, ECO2013, CGS2531, ACG2021C, (GLY2010C or GLY2030C), MAC2233, STA2023, ((BCN2405 or (BCN2400 and BCN2401)), (ENC1102 or ENC1145 or AML2070 or AML2410), PHY2004, PHY2004L, PHY2005, PHY2005L
  • 2.35 UF GPA required

Semester 2:

  • Complete 10 additional hours of critical courses
  • 2.4 UF GPA required

Semester 3:

  • Complete 10 additional hours of critical courses
  • 2.45 UF GPA required

Semester 4:

  • Complete 11 additional hours of critical courses
  • 2.5 UF GPA required

Semester 5:

  • Complete 10 additional hours of critical courses
  • 2.0 GPA in all BCN courses
  • 2.5 UF GPA required

NOTE: Listed below is a suggested semester-by-semester plan for enrollment.

NOTE: Tracking courses are preprofessional courses. Grades of C are required in BCN 1210 and 2405C, ENC 1101 and 2210, PHY 2004 and 2005, and in one of the following: ENC 1102 or 1145 or AML 2070 or 2410.

Residential Option

Building construction students may graduate with a residential option. The following courses are required:

BCN 4751C, Project Planning and Feasibility, is substituted for BCN 4787C.

And two required electives:

BCN 4023 Creating Affordable Housing

BCN 4770 Housing Transactions for Homebuilders.
