Students
majoring in horticultural science may choose one of two specializations: general
horticultural science or fruit and vegetable crops. An academic adviser will
help to develop a program of course work.
Students
at the Fort Pierce Research and Education Center may major in general horticulture
or fruit and vegetable crops.
To
remain ‘on track’ for this major, a student must meet the following critical
tracking criteria. The critical tracking courses appear in bold.

GPA required for semesters 1-5

1 of 7 critical courses – excluding labs CHM2045, CHM2045L, AEB3103 or ECO2023,

Horticultural
Science Minor
Students
in all disciplines at the university are allowed to minor in horticulture science.
Some background courses in botany or plant sciences are assumed and recommended.
Students are required to take a minimum of 15 credit hours.
