Minors - Public Leadership
Hours: 21 credits, all completed with grades of B or better
The minor in public leadership, offered by the Bob Graham Center for Public Service, is an interdisciplinary program for undergraduates interested in careers in the public and private sectors. Through course work and practical experience, students gain the skills and knowledge necessary for effective and ethical leadership careers. The minor is intended to complement a variety of majors, including the natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, journalism and business.
Students pursuing the minor will also participate in workshops, seminars and speaker series offered by the center.
Students must have a 3.25 GPA and have completed general education requirements before admission to the minor. Students normally apply during their sophomore or junior year. Applications must include:
- A 2-3 page statement of purpose. Please indicate why you are applying to the minor and how participation will help your future career
- Two letters of recommendation, at least one of which must come from a UF faculty member, and
- A brief résumé.
