College Level Academic Skills Requirement (CLASR)
CLASR is designed to measure the communication and computation skills judged by Florida statutes and the State Board of Education as necessary for successful performance and progression through the baccalaureate level. Satisfaction is achieved through approved course work and ACT, SAT or CPT/ACCUPLACER scores. Current UF students can determine whether they have satisfied this requirement by looking at their degree audit on ISIS. CLASR must be met by the time the student has earned 60 credit hours.
Transfer students who do not satisfactorily complete the requirement via approved course work or test scores may not be admitted.
CLASR also applies to students transferring to Florida state universities from Florida private colleges and out-of-state colleges.
- Transfer students with fewer than 90 semester hours must satisfy this requirement by the end of the first term of enrollment at UF.
- Transfer applicants with more than 90 hours must have satisfied this requirement before admission to the university.
Registration for UF course work and awarding of the A.A. certificate after earning 60 hours are contingent upon satisfaction of CLASR.
