Environmental Studies (for non-science majors)
Hours: 15-17 credits, all completed with grades of C or better
The minor in environmental studies is distinct from the minor in environmental science, which is for science-oriented students. It provides course work of high environmental relevance with an introductory scientific foundation for students in fields such as architecture, humanities or fine arts who want to gain useful knowledge of the environment without having access blocked by course prerequisites in the biophysical sciences.
The minor requires exposure to a combination of basic environmental science issues, applications and policy.
Students must earn 45 credits before they can apply for this minor. The application is available in 103 Black Hall. Students must first obtain their college dean's (or representative's) signature before submitting the completed form for processing.
