MEM 2500 The Tales of King Arthur
Credits: 3.
Upon completion students will be familiar with some of the great literary works of the Arthurian tradition and with the manner in which the tales of King Arthur serve, from their sixth century Celtic origins to the present, to articulate the interests and values of different social groups through history. MEM 3003 Introduction to the Medieval World
Credits: 3.
Chronological and topical introduction to history of medieval millennium (400-1400). (H, N)
MEM 3300 Castles and Cloisters: An Introduction to Medieval and Early Modern Communities
Credits: 3.
A study of monastic and courtly-chivalric communities as these evolved in the Middle Ages and early modern period. Explorations of architecture, art, literature and music illustrate how different monastic and chivalric communities saw the world and their place in it. (H, N)
MEM 3730 Studies in the Holy Roman Empire
Credits: 3.
This variable topics course examines the political and religious ideas, as well as the literary and artistic productions, associated with significant stages in the history of the Holy Roman Empire.
MEM 4905 Independent Study in Medieval and Early Modern Studies
Credits: 1 to 5, variable, with maximum of 3 credits per semester; Prereq: consent of instructor.
Independent work in medieval and early modern studies.
MEM 4931 Special Topics in Medieval and Early Modern Studies
Credits: 1 to 3, variable. Can be repeated for up to 9 total hours.
Provides advanced study in medieval and early modern studies.
MEM 4956 Overseas Studies 1
Credits: 1 to 15; can be repeated with change in topic up to 15 credits. Prereq: Permission of undergraduate adviser.
A mechanism for course work taken at a foreign university as part of an approved study abroad program. Credits taken under this will be transferred to UF and count toward graduation.
