Health Education
The minor in health education is designed to provide a basic understanding of the field of health education and an opportunity to gain background in a variety of health issues related to disease prevention and health promotion. Although the minor alone does not fully satisfy requirements for teacher certification in health, students do have the opportunity to choose courses that will partially satisfy certification requirements.
The minor is open to students of all disciplines classified at the junior and senior levels who achieve and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher. The minor in health education requires the completion of at least 15 credit hours of HSC course work as specified below. Students should refer to the course descriptions in the undergraduate catalog for any prerequisites for each course.
