Course requirements for the Doctor of Pharmacy include the preprofessional curriculum and four years of professional preparation. Courses and clerkships in the professional curricula are revised periodically to meet pharmacy education standards. Current information on the curriculum can be obtained from the Office for Student Affairs in the College of Pharmacy.

All Doctor of Pharmacy students complete required courses and elective requirements (146 total credits for the professional curriculum and 69-72 credits in the preprofessional program).

• Complete CHM 1025 or (CHM 2045 and CHM 2045L)

• Complete 3 additional courses of the 11 critical courses – including labs – CHM 2045, CHM 2045L, CHM 2046, CHM 2046L, MAC 2233, BSC 2010, BSC 2010L, BSC 2011, BSC 2011L, CHM 2210, CHM 2211, CHM 2211L, PHY 2053, PHY 2053L, PHY 2054, PHY 2054L, PET 2320C and PET 2350C
• 3.0 GPA on all math and science courses for semesters 2-5

• Complete 4 additional courses of the 11 critical courses – including labs (2 of the 7 courses must be CHM 2210 and PET 2320C or ZOO 3713C)

• Complete all 11 critical courses – including associated labs
• Satisfactory score on the PCAT test
• Complete Campus Site Selection Form, Personal Profile Questions, Letters of Recommendation, PharmCAS application and UF application by February 1
• Approval by college admission committee

The semester one label below may not be the first semester at the university. Semester one refers to the first semester of preprofessional science and mathematics courses. Students who already have satisfied the criteria for a particular semester will be assigned an appropriate semester to begin the tracking program. Critical-tracking courses should be completed in the semester indicated. Preprofessional courses are followed by an asterisk (*).
