Art History


        The Bachelor of Arts offers art history classes in ancient, medieval, renaissance/ baroque, modern and non-western art. Students who plan to enter graduate study in art history should take courses in all of these areas. At least one course in four of the five areas is required.

        Critical tracking criteria appears in bold. These courses must be completed in the term specified to remain on-track.

** Intermediate level of a foreign language is required, taken at UF with a minimum grade of C, in French and German
     through FRE 2200 or GER 2200. The elementary level may be taken S-U. Substitutions or exceptions require adviser
     approval.

** Humanities electives include 3-4000 level courses in history, philosophy, anthropology, classics, religion and literature.
     These electives cannot be taken in art history.
