Creative Photography

The BFA in creative photography emphasizes studio design and technique. The curriculum develops professional specialization and preparation in the creative process and artistic comprehension.

Students must complete a 2-D, a 3-D and a 4-D course as part of their 2000-level studio requirements. A portfolio review will be required of students prior to admission into junior level studio courses.

Creative Photography

To remain 'on track' for this major you must meet the following critical tracking criteria. The critical tracking courses appear in bold.

Semester 1:

  • 2.0 UF GPA
  • Complete a total of 9 hours (ART1802C, ART1803C) or a total of 6 hours of any ART or PGY or GRA course at the 2000 level with a grade of "C" or better

Semester 2:

  • 2.50 UF GPA
  • Complete 2 of 6 critical courses (PGY2441C, PGY2442C, ARH2050, ARH2051, 2 courses of ART/GRA 2000 level) with a grade of "C" or better

Semester 3:

  • 2.75 UF GPA
  • Complete 3 additional critical courses with a grade of "C" or better

Semester 4:

  • 3.0 UF GPA for sems 4-5
  • Complete 1 additional critical course with a grade of "C" or better
  • Complete the CLAST exam or be exempted
