Transfer students with an A.A. must complete additional courses in the basic distribution, which includes general education requirements. Students must earn a grade of C or better in each of these courses. They may not be taken S-U.

2 Select six credits of theatre electives during the senior year with adviser approval.

Elective Requirement

A minimum of 120 semester hours is required for a B.A. An elective is any course taken outside of the major. Unless an approved minor is included, electives must be chosen from 3000-4000 level courses in the College of Fine Arts outside the Department of Theatre and Dance. BA degree students may, however, satisfy 17 of the 24 elective credits with the dance minor or in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Students must take 10 hours of foreign language or show a minimum proficiency in a single foreign language by taking a placement test. If the proficiency is met, it does not reduce the number of credit hours required for the degree. Foreign language may be taken S-U or for a letter grade, and the minimum grade is C; no credit is given through CLEP examinations. A student may select up to nine hours of 3000-4000 level electives as credit from colleges other than CLAS and CFA.

All students pursuing the B.A. degree must consult the department adviser and get approval before attempting the elective portion of this program.
